In the picturesque village with about 2,600 inhabitants, we met with the store manager of MILK-AGRO, Mrs. Beáta Levaiová. The store moved to new premises in August 2019, about which the manager enthusiastically told us...
When did you open?
We opened on September 2, 2019. Before that, we had premises a little distance from here, opposite the current store. So people were used to us, and when we started moving and transporting goods on shopping carts, they knew it would be quick. We had the old store open until the last moment so that our customers had no problems shopping. We managed the move in a few days.
You are in the very center of town; new customers can easily find you...
The location of the store is really excellent. There is a large parking lot, which is an advantage for those who come shopping by car. There is also the labor office and a clinic here; many people come from surrounding villages and can shop here.
Do those passing through, for example, to Hungary stop by?
Yes, especially in July and August, there are many foreigners here. Those going to Hungary stop here, as well as those coming to see Tokaj and the wine cellars.
So you don't sell much wine...
No. Everyone has wine at home. And in summer, vegetables too. But we sell milk and dairy products also to foreigners. And all those I asked about the taste praise our dairy products. They even come from Hungary to buy them. It's not far for them. They come and say they can't find such good milk and yogurts elsewhere.
There is no crowd at the dairy counters...
At the old place, we had two dairy display cases; now we have four, double the amount. People can choose comfortably and do not have to wait behind each other. We can have sufficient stock and a wide assortment. The entire sales area is about twice as large as the previous one. We have to work hard, but it is worth it; our sales are increasing, customers are satisfied, and their number is growing.
Back to the opening, was it grand?
Yes, we were looking forward to it and prepared our customers for it. About 200 people came to the opening, and we could not attend to them all. We had various gifts and attentions prepared for our loyal customers. We decorated the store and had balloons because when you celebrate, you do it properly. The company director, Mr. Jozef Kundrát, and his daughter were also present. It was very impressive. We are grateful to Mrs. Judita Gulyásová, who had this new and modern building built for us and was helpful in everything.
What else was added besides dairy counters?
More space means more shelves, more goods, and a wider assortment. We expanded the bread and bakery product assortment, selling bakery products from several suppliers. Customers also enjoy rummaging through the "rummage" baskets; before, we did not have enough space for them.
Final question, which SABI products sell the most?
Chocolate-banana, strawberry, and blueberry yogurts. And the newest – lactose-free yogurts.
