In recent years, the world has changed so much that besides various technological innovations that make our lives easier, various civilization diseases are increasingly appearing. Among particularly unpleasant difficulties is lactose intolerance. However, at Milk Agro, we think of everyone, and therefore we decided to expand our lactose-free range with more products.
First, we would like to clarify what lactose intolerance actually is. It is a partial or complete inability of the digestive system to process the milk sugar lactose. The cause is a lack of the digestive enzyme lactase, whose role is to break down lactose found in dairy products. It is necessary to say that lactose intolerance is not a food allergy and should be distinguished from dairy product intolerance, which is a more complex problem.
“Lactose intolerance has been talked about very often recently. People who have consumed dairy products all their lives suddenly have problems with their consumption. The risk of intolerance increases with age or frequent antibiotic use. However, we wanted to help these customers. We want to make their lives easier and therefore continuously work on producing products that will be easily digestible even for this part of our customers,” said Ing. Peter Kočiš, head of dairy production.
