SABI VOLOVEC scores again!

Volovec scores again! Our company MILK–AGRO traditionally participated with its great Volovec cheese in the foreign competition "National Cheese Review 2020" in Prague. Volovec was again rated as EXCELLENT!

The Institute of Milk, Fat and Cosmetics of the University of Chemistry and Technology Prague, in cooperation with the Czech-Moravian Dairy Association and the Czech Chemical Society, organizes the annual national cheese competition. Since our company has been producing a wide range of high-quality dairy products for several decades, we decided to participate in the competition this year as well with one of your favorite cheeses - Volovec. We are happy to announce to you, our supporters, that we did not disappoint you again. As in previous years, the SABI brand received a prestigious quality award this year as well. The Volovec cheese 45% fat in dry matter was rated as EXCELLENT and finished at the highest possible level of the competition.

What makes Volovec cheese special?

Volovec cheese is made by so-called sweet coagulation and then long-term ripening under optimal conditions in ripening warehouses. "We pride ourselves on the quality of our products, so the most important production conditions are the use of first-class selected milk, adherence to traditional recipes, and classic production procedures," said the deputy head of dairy production at MILK-AGRO, MVDr. Marek Kunda.

Volovec is a Swiss-type cheese of Tilsit character with low-heated curd. One of its most interesting features is the way it ripens. Volovec ripens for several months and during this period is continuously monitored and specially cared for by the staff of the Sabinov dairy. Production controllers regularly monitor it and apply a mixture of bacterial cultures to it over several months. This application causes the cheese to ripen from the rind towards its center. Thanks to this specific care, its typical mildly spicy aroma and taste gradually intensify. "We are very pleased that our customers praise it and like it. There is nothing better than finding out that the product of our work is popular among customers and highly rated by experts. We will continue to do everything to offer our customers the best products. We believe that other dairy products also taste as good to our customers as Volovec cheese," said the deputy head of dairy production at MILK-AGRO, MVDr. Marek Kunda.
