Traditional Christmas Stollen

500 g plain flour
200 g semolina sugar
2 pcs eggs
1 pc baking powder
1 pc vanilla sugar
150 g SABI butter
50 g pork lard
250 g SABI curd
120 g nuts
120 g candied orange peel
dried raisins and cranberries to taste


Procedure

1. Sift flour and baking powder into a large bowl, add vanilla sugar, SABI curd, pork lard, and softened SABI butter.

2. Whisk eggs with sugar until foamy and add to dry ingredients. Knead dough by hand and finally add nuts, raisins, cranberries, and candied orange peel.

3. Divide dough in half and shape into two rolls. Place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 40 minutes.

4. After baking, brush warm stollen with SABI butter and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Once cooled, wrap cakes in foil and let rest - the longer the stollen rests, the moister it becomes.
