Cheese Pie Banitsa

300 g Sabinov type Balkan cheese
1 clove garlic
2 pcs eggs
2 tbsp SABI white yogurt
275 g chilled puff pastry
plain flour for dusting
2 tablespoons melted SABI butter for brushing
salt and black pepper.


Procedure

1. Finely grate the SABI Balkan cheese into a larger bowl, add crushed garlic, eggs, and white yogurt. Mix thoroughly and season with salt and black pepper.

2. Spread the puff pastry sheet on a floured board, dust it with flour and gently roll it out. Cut it widthwise into 3 equal parts and place the cheese filling in the center of each part. Brush the edges of the dough with melted butter and roll each sheet into a long cylinder. Press and seal the ends to prevent the filling from leaking.

3. Grease a round baking dish with melted butter and dust with a little flour. Place the prepared puff pastry "rolls" into the round baking dish in a snail shape. Brush the top of the cake with melted butter and lightly prick with the tip of a knife. Bake for 30 minutes in a preheated oven at 220°C.

4. Serve with fresh vegetable salad.
