Sisters Žaneta and Magdaléna love cooking and like to return to childhood through familiar flavors. On Instagram, they go by Aja and Mana and run the successful profile @recepty_od_starkej, where they cook and bake nostalgic, simple, and tasty retro recipes.
Prepare a TRADITIONAL YOGURT BUNDT CAKE with them and join the contest found on our Instagram.
Ingredients: (the yogurt cup serves as a measuring cup)
- 4 eggs
- 2 small (150g) cups of white SABI yogurt
- 2 cups of sugar
- 1 cup of oil
- 4 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 baking powder
- 1 vanilla sugar
- lemon zest from 1/2 lemon
- oil for greasing the pan
- coconut, nuts, or coarse flour for dusting the pan
Instructions:
1. Beat eggs with sugar and vanilla sugar. Add yogurt, lemon zest, oil, and mix well.
2. Gradually add sifted flour with baking powder and gently fold into the batter.
3. Pour the batter into a greased pan dusted with coconut (nuts or flour). Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C (top/bottom heat) for about 50 - 55 minutes.
*Check if the cake is baked by inserting a wooden skewer: if it comes out dry and no batter sticks, the cake is done.
