You just can’t decide. No wonder, when choosing among all the trendy foods, we easily lose appetite. Sometimes it’s enough to go back to childhood and remember winter holidays spent at grandma’s. 1. Milk above all

Tasty and healthy milk provides the body with important substances such as proteins, fat, carbohydrates, calcium, and vitamins A, D, E, K. A glass of fresh milk warms wonderfully in freezing weather. Moreover, in the irresistible combination with homemade freshly baked poppy seed roll, known in some parts of Slovakia as lupačka, you will simply love it. The most important animal fat, which has become our silent ally and invaluable helper in the kitchen, can delight the taste buds of young and old in cold weather. How? For example, just spread it on a piece of crispy bread and enjoy it with hot tea until the proper temperature returns to your frozen fingers. Grandmas know their loved ones well and can come up with a trick even for such a seemingly simple treat. Just salt the bread or add tomato or pepper. They also have a solution for those who prefer sweet. A thin layer of homemade honey or jam perfectly complements the taste of traditional butter and hot tea.

Even easily spread processed cheese can have an effect on a body worn out by winter. Have you tried golden toasted bread with garlic and processed cheese? Similarly, they taste great with hot tea. And although processed cheese tastes great not only for breakfast, it is also excellent for seasoning various cooked or baked delicacies.

 

There are various options. The choice of food to brighten cold days will differ according to your taste. However, one thing is certain. It is worth remembering the treats our grandmothers prepared. In the simplicity of their taste lies beauty.
