Savory Easter Cheese Bake

Ingredients

500 g ground meat (chicken, pork, or beef)
400 g smoked cooked meat (ham or cooked smoked knuckle)
8 pcs eggs
5 pcs rolls
to taste spring onion, garlic, salt, ground black pepper, crushed caraway, turmeric, and ground red paprika


Procedure

Grind meat and smoked cooked ham (cooked pork knuckle). Prepare bread by cutting into small cubes and soaking in water until soft. In a large bowl, mix meat, egg yolks, and chopped spring onion thoroughly. Add spices to taste (be careful with salt as smoked meat is already salty). Then add softened bread, squeezing out excess water if needed. Finally, whisk egg whites with a pinch of salt into stiff peaks and gently fold into the mixture. Grease a baking tray (approx. 38 x 28 cm) with oil and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Bake the savory Easter cheese bake for 15 minutes at 200°C, then reduce temperature to 150°C and bake until golden for another 30 minutes.
