180 g SABI butter

90 g powdered sugar

270 g plain flour

1 tsp salt


Procedure

  1. Let SABI butter soften at room temperature for several hours. Then whip it with sugar until creamy. Mix salt into the measured flour and sift it into the butter cream. Gently fold in the flour so no dry parts remain visible (overmixing will make the cookies hard after baking).
  2. Spread the dough on a small baking tray, optionally lined with baking paper (paper helps to easily remove the dough sheet). Chill for at least 30 minutes to firm up. Mark cutting lines and prick the dough well with a fork to keep even thickness during baking.
  3. Bake cookies at low temperature 150°C for about 50 minutes. Cut the warm sheet along the marked lines with a sharp knife.

TIP: You can flavor the dough with cinnamon, vanilla, or cocoa, but plain butter cookies taste fantastic on their own, so you might not want to change the flavor.
