Our company MILK-AGRO, besides its dairy production and operation of food stores, is also interested in cultural programs in its surroundings. The Prešov region is the heart of the east, and the company management is delighted that Prešov is not forgotten even musically. This year, after a two-year break, the 12th edition of the Dobrý festival will take place. Since it is a well-established Eastern Slovak event, we have prepared a contest for tickets in cooperation with the band IMT Smile. Mr. Miro Tásler from IMT Smile, with whom we prepared a short interview for you, will tell us more about the festival.
Dobrý festival has resonated in the ears of Eastern Slovaks for many years. Yet there are still a few bands that do not know much about it. How would you briefly describe Dobrý festival? Who is it for?
Dobrý festival is a multi-genre, multicultural festival in eastern Slovakia. Every year it is visited by many people (adults and children), mainly from eastern Slovakia but also from abroad. Everyone finds something for themselves there.
In the past, it was a Festival of Good Music. Since 2007, it has been under the auspices of IMT Smile. We assume you took on the roles with joy but also respect. What does the band take care of in organizing the festival? What does the preparation involve?
I mainly handle the festival (Miro). Such a festival is a mix of everything you can imagine and even what you cannot imagine... About 300 people work on it. We try to make it a place with character and tolerance for all age groups. We provide water, electricity, dressing rooms for artists, toilets, food, drinks, navigation in the area, bins and waste removal, a tent camp, and in cooperation with the city of Prešov also shuttle transport, waste recycling, a children's corner, lost and found, supplies, etc. It is a logistically quite demanding event, which is like building a small town on an open area with everything that belongs to it.
Dobrý festival is organized at the natural swimming pool Delňa, although it was held three times at the Prešov amphitheater. In 2018, the festival did not take place due to the reconstruction of Delňa. Was this reconstruction also thanks to you?
Delňa is a rather old area and was not prepared or planned for a festival of this size. After an agreement with the city of Prešov, during the repair of Delňa, we moved the festival to the amphitheater, which I manage and which I repaired to its current functional state. I must add that I got it as an overgrown forest among benches after years of neglect. During that time, water, electricity, and sewage connections were built at Delňa, which were not previously at a level to accommodate such a number of people. The city also built toilets during the reconstruction, as the original ones were not functional.
All cultural events were canceled for the last 2 years. How long was Dobrý festival not organized in Prešov? Did you miss it?
The festival had a 2-year break due to the pandemic. Of course, we missed it. However, Dobrý festival is not a profit-making thing; it is my joy and mainly passion. This edition is basically postponed from 2020, with small changes in the program, as not all original artists had free dates in their calendars.
This year finally brings a change for the better, and the people of Prešov can look forward to a great Dobrý festival again. Will there be any changes fans should know about or look forward to?
Every year we try to bring something new. This year will be similar yet different. Some zones will be differently arranged and designed. I won’t reveal anything; hopefully, we will surprise and please people.
Is the list of bands performing at the festival already known? Could you please tell us about this year’s program?
Every year, the Prešov trio - IMT Smile, Chikilikitua, Heľenine oči - plays at the festival. Besides them, Kali and Peter Pan, one of the most famous world Drum and Bass DJs - Andy C from England, the Israeli band Orphaned Land, Swiss Eluveitie, and many others will perform. The full program is gradually published at www.dobryfestival.sk. It will consist of many concerts but also a rich program for children, discussions on various topics, etc.
What will the entrance fee be?
The ticket will cost 30 EUR and will be valid for both festival days.
What would you say to the fans? And what to others to attract them?
We look forward to seeing you and believe you will experience beautiful moments at the festival and take home a lot of good energy and good memories.
We are nearing the end; please tell us something about our SABI products. Which SABI products do you like the most?
Since I mostly live in western Slovakia, where there are not yet many of your stores, I mainly buy SABI yogurts, which can also be found in larger chains. But when I am home in the east, I like to buy butter and other dairy products.
What would you say to MILK-AGRO customers at the end?
Listen to good music, go to concerts, and enjoy every single day to the fullest because none of us knows what tomorrow will bring.
We thank Mr. Tásler for the pleasant interview. And we believe many of you sincerely look forward to this great event.
