Hearty Onion Pie

Dough:
300 g semi-coarse flour
300 ml semi-skimmed milk SABI
20 g yeast
pinch of granulated sugar
1 egg
pinch of salt
50 g SABI butter
 

Onion mixture:
400 g onions
1 tablespoon oil
200 g sour cream SABI
2 eggs
salt
ground black pepper
ground caraway seeds


Procedure

Prepare a yeast starter from lukewarm milk (about 150 ml), yeast, and sugar. Sift flour into a bowl, add the starter, egg, melted butter, salt, and remaining milk. Knead a pliable dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes. Peel and slice onions, sauté in heated oil until translucent, and let cool. Beat eggs with sour cream, add salt, pepper, caraway, and mix with sautéed onions. Roll out the dough, place on a baking tray lined with baking paper (raise edges slightly), and pour the onion mixture over.

Bake at 160 °C for about 45 minutes.
