Mini diary from Milan
Day 1, 4. 5. 2017 – 5. 5. 2017
The unexpected trip to Milan was a great adventure for me from the very first moment. Even on the way, I saw beautiful places, I was captivated by the Alps and the colorful landscape we passed through. I was looking forward to Italy, which I had never visited before. Our arrival in Milan was full of experiences. Right after arrival, we had an excellent Italian dinner: we tasted various kinds of cheeses, ham, mortadella, spaghetti, pizza, and immediately felt how delicious Italy is. We had star company, Juraj Kucka, an excellent footballer. He is a good guy and, as we later found out, very well known and popular in Milan. Milanese people on the street read his name from our jerseys “Kučkaaaaa” and definitely knew him. It's a pity he fouled so much and we didn't see him play. We fell into bed completely thrilled and utterly exhausted. I still managed to notice that I was in a modern, very nicely furnished room. I will definitely remodel mine like this!
Day 2, 6. 5. 2017
Early in the morning, we were awakened by a truly rich breakfast – yum! Then we had a city tour by sightseeing bus. I was really looking forward to this. We were accompanied by a lady from our consulate, and our dear Fabio livened it up with interesting info about Milan. I have tons of photos; I didn’t know where to look first. Then there was a lunch whose taste I actually remembered: Italian pasta, tomato sauce, and other delicacies in a beautiful restaurant. I greatly appreciated the invitation from the consulate to an international ecological event. It was interesting to see and get inspired by various “eco ideas” from around the world. I am determined to send them samples of our amazing “eco projects” that we do at school. Protecting nature, trees, animals is very important to me in life. It is an honor for me that I was invited there and could see everything. The invitation for a great pancake from Mrs. Veronika gave us strength for more experiences.
Day 3, 7. 5. 2017
We explored Milan on foot. I was struck by the fact that there are beautiful historical monuments here, but I also noticed complete traffic chaos. At home, it would be accident after accident and fine after fine. But maybe that’s why Italians are so cheerful. The driverless metro really unsettled me; I kept hoping someone would get on… We were excited all day about the AC Milan: AS Roma match at San Siro, and then the moment came! Magnificent! Amazing atmosphere, passionate fans – cheering and booing alternately. The stadium was simply fantastic – and I say that as a hockey player! An experience! Live, it’s a completely different feeling than on TV!
Day 4, 8. 5. 2017
There was no more room in our bodies or heads for any more experiences, but we were all looking forward to Gardaland. I am not a fan of carousels, but this was a different level. A place of many surprises! A UFO trip with a beautiful view, a ride on a mammoth train, a wild boat ride… super!!! All wet, happy, full of more experiences, we set off home.
Day 15 after return, 24. 5. 2017
I am still at home telling stories from the trip to Milan. There are so many! I really like traveling, so this was an amazing win in the Recycle and Win competition with the company Milk-Agro. And for everything, I want to thank the great people I met, who prepared everything, took care of us, safely drove us to Italy and back home. Thanks to Slavo, Stanka, Fabio, Matej, and everyone I met for an amazing five days in Italy. I am happy to help with your work if you need it because you do the right and good things.
