Experiment with Vegan Sausage

In moderation, it never hurts to enjoy some smoked or roasted meat delicacy, but it also doesn't hurt to occasionally try something from the exact opposite spectrum – for example, a vegan sausage. Even if you are a staunch meat consumer, don't dismiss this option and let yourself be surprised by a new taste. A shop with healthy vegan foods surely exists in your area, but you would be surprised how easy it is to make such an experiment at home. The sausage may not be exactly like the one from the uncle in "Upper Malíková" and maybe you will like it very quickly and won't want another.

You can make it quite simply at home. You can find a recipe, for example, on the blog of food blogger Monika Brydová (brydova.cz). The base is various seeds, sun-dried tomatoes in oil, smoked peppers, garlic, salt, and various spices. Smoked peppers give the final product the right aroma, garlic and spices the taste. Mix everything well, some seeds can be left whole. It is important to season the mixture well; you can use a classic sausage spice mix. Be careful with salt because some ingredients may already be salty. Do not add tomato oil; if the mixture crumbles, add water instead. Shape the obtained mass into a sausage shape and wrap tightly in cling film. Then freeze it, and that's all. No complicated devices or filling into casings. When consuming, just unwrap the mass and let it stand a little at room temperature so it can be sliced. With mustard and onion, it will quite well resemble a tasty smoked sausage, but your body will get a good dose of antioxidants and nutrients.

Is it quite a crazy idea? Surprise your friends! If you are known as a "meat-eater," they won't expect this from you, and you will just have fun with their shocked faces. If nothing else, you will have something to remember at your meetings later.
