The school year has started, and with it, the next edition of the Recycle and Win contest, which Milk-Agro has been announcing for 16 years. We talked about it with the head of the marketing department, Mgr. Matej Bálint.
What do you think keeps the Recycle and Win contest popular for so many years?
Schools participating in the contest can win many interesting prizes, from shopping vouchers for school supplies and purchases in Milk-Agro stores, through electric scooters and tablets for the most diligent student, to experiences meeting celebrities at concerts. And for the best collectors, there are trips to meet sports personalities; next year, we will likely go to meet football national team player Martin Dúbravka. Each year, the winning school in each category receives as a reward participation in the Integration concert, which this year took place on October 10 in Bratislava at Ondrej Nepela Stadium.
In which categories will the contest be held this year?
There are 6 categories (A, B, C, D, E, and F)
Category A: Collection of aluminum lids from SABI products
Category B: Collection of tetrapaks from fresh SABI milk
Category C: Purchase of lids and tetrapaks for schools that did not place in the top 10 in categories A and B
Category D: Best MILK-AGRO customer. 30 school facilities win.
Category E: Creation from SABI product packaging (tetrapaks, lids)
Category F: Song (audio recording) – the text must contain the words "MILK-AGRO," "SABI," "INTEGRÁČIK," "RECYCLE AND WIN," and "INTEGRATION."
How many schools participate in the contest?
The number of schools is more or less stable; about 300 schools participate each year. We estimate around one hundred thousand children. Since whole families participate in the collection, the overall reach is much larger.
How much is collected?
Every year, we collect 15 tons of composite packaging, which our delivery lines transport and then, of course, we recycle through authorized organizations. We have set prices per kilogram for aluminum lids and tetrapaks as part of the motivation for collection. But the main motivation of the Recycle and Win contest is environmental protection and environmental education.
