10 good tips on how to survive the holidays without side effects II

Some time ago, we revealed to you the first part of 10 good tips on how to survive the holidays without side effects.
The Christmas time has meanwhile approached, and today we bring you the continuation.

EAT HEALTHY

Mayonnaise salad and various fried dishes are not the only option on how to spend and especially digest Christmas Eve dinner. There are countless variants on how to prepare a tasty and healthy festive dinner; you just need to choose the right ingredients. Salad does not have to be only about mayonnaise; try replacing it with yogurt. Instead of frying, try another cooking method, e.g., steaming or grilling. If you face unhealthy food, put half of the food you crave on your plate and fill the rest with vegetables.

QUALITY OVER QUANTITY

We all know it; a pot of sauerkraut soup is cooking on the stove, trays of cakes are baking, and at least 2 kg of smoked delicacies lie in the fridge. These are literally nonsensical stocks that we have no chance to eat without overeating. And yet it would be enough to shop with a clear head and not get carried away by shopping frenzy. Treat yourself to less but quality food during the holidays, bake only the cakes that everyone liked last year. Buy appropriate amounts of fruit and vegetables, don't forget nuts, figs, and dates.

SHARED DINING

It is not necessary to give up all treats and "unhealthy foods"; you just need to enjoy the moment. Feel the aroma, flavors, and don't think about anything else, and above all, take your time. Let's learn to enjoy food and moments at the table and make it pleasant, for example, by talking with fellow diners. Let's not forget that through conversation, we should show genuine interest and not just ask various, even inquisitorial questions or interrogations. Through this shared dining, we not only fill our stomachs but also truly relax, regenerate, and get into a pleasant mood.

ALLOW YOURSELF NATURAL BURNERS

Some foods speed up metabolism, fat burning, reduce feelings of hunger, and last but not least, have cleansing effects. They should be a natural part of our diet.

Lemon is number one, not only in vitamin C content. Add lemon juice not only to tea but also to meals. Chili and spices favorably support digestion; ginger promotes the production of gastric juices and cleanses. Mint, coffee, or simply brushing your teeth with menthol toothpaste reliably quells the craving for sweets.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

10,000 steps or 7 km is the recommended daily minimum as a health prevention. You might say you don't have time for such things during the holidays? But when then? At this time, it is easy. We are not rushing anywhere, so we can afford longer walks. Visit friends on foot or use public transport if you usually go everywhere by car. And when winter is generous with snow, time spent outside will be even nicer. Then use winter sports. You don't have to wait for an opportunity to exercise in the best winter resort in the world; you can always enjoy a sled ride or just build a snowman.

We can only hope that you took some of our advice to heart and that the holidays will be days of peace and abundance for you.
